Rains and sun rays

Image
monthly collection of freestyle poems One has been catching more smiles than sunsets. It is such a pleasure like the feeling which sunbeams shining through trees bring about. It is a picture of a below the surface kind of beauty That is what rain and sun rays cause. Rain and sunshine That period when you realize you need to take a few steps back because you don't want to ruin somebody's present and steady flow. The way they beam makes you picture blue skies. There are those who feel like they always bring the rain to someone's parade. but even the greeneries in the grove are dependent on both rain and sunlight. Think of the fresh rain smell, when the grass is greener and the morning is misty. Even rainstorms together with light rays can cause colorful patches on old roads. You're that kind. Diners The lights have reached those unlit parts of the shop. Solace has become a comrade. The humid breeze on the bus stop only bothers you on a superficial level. Stations don'...

Tales and cafes

Image
second compilation for the month of July 2023 Occasions located comfortably during a Sunday early afternoon in a coffee house that resides in a familiar neighborhood going over fragments observing passersby Waiting for an idea is like watching the shifting colors of the sky during the end of the day. The feeling of longingness disappearing and relief reappearing after a friend found motivation once again. Orange lights orange lights perceived after the blue hour Every sunset, they're accompanied by the purple skies. I chased them in solitude during a random early afternoon but they're more wonder-inducing when with company. The clouds were dark earlier. Now, sunrays entering through the cranny of the windows caught my eye. Someone would rather compose like a sensible songwriter than romanticize everything through love songs. Someone would prefer to cry along an unpopular character than feel her heart flutter.   Classic...

Stations

Image
July compilation of freestyle poems Someone in the limelight Even on your days off folks recognize you. The suburb is the extension of the theater in which you stand. You're off to the next station but eyes are still on you. One can neither wear a seamless dress nor a beam the whole while. the miracle you've hoped for You've gotten on its journey. The nine-to-five isn't the whole picture. Stations posts between people catching trains rushing before the current one departs There's that gap. I used to be scared of being stuck in it. In the middle of the crowd, there's still a space between our worlds. stuck on the phone until the last stop Passengers arrive and go. preoccupied either by their screens or by shifts head over the clouds second thoughts which led to regrets There's a letter card in one's pocket a foreword for those who stayed Picture cards Which is more mind-bugging new folks approaching or residents outgoing? I’d rather be in a long queue tha...

poems of June

Image
compilation of my freestyle poems written throughout June interim unlearning my past self but never unloving my younger version I’ve noticed that my previous proses would depict the emotions I had during that season. To look back is still not easy. While being steadfast, I won’t lose my succor. I wanted to keep both vulnerability and strength. During the interim, I’ll delight in solace. rainy season Now, we pine for the sun, the clouds and the clear blue sky. the thrumming sounds resemble a lullaby Now, we miss the people and the kind of people we are when they were around. It will never be the same. That is the sad news. It will never be the same. That is the good news. from wanting to disregard everything to doing what it takes to remember The season is a prompt and it kindles nostalgia and my reminiscences. companion when you and a friend from your childhood grew apart from each other when a friend decides to fly to another country when you and a colleague turned f...

May 2023 poems

Image
compilation of freestyle poetry accumulated throughout May Early rains damped shoes foggy windows the splash from puddles brought by the inevitable yet early rains the sound from your radio The mud and plash no longer bum you up as long as you keep your umbrella steady; as long as you hold your chin up. You’re prized even during the days you’re still learning how to love. contagious laughter lending our ears for stories I couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate life. Can’t change their minds The place which used to be foreign to you has become a home. There are places and even people who used to be acquainted to you but are now strangers to you. I’m trying my best to be comfortable with variation I’m trying my best to be comfortable with gloom and delight co-occurring. New circumstances come so often arriving every other year and sometimes even more frequent No year is ever alike. Some situations won’t go back to the way they used to be. I need to be accustomed with disconnection...

three relational reflections

Image
longer title: lessons which prove that you don’t have to be in a romantic relationship to learn about relationships essentials Honestly, daily life itself is rich with realizations. Someone doesn’t have to go through something like toxic relationships in order to be accustomed with the ill effects and one doesn’t have to jump into a poor decision hastily to know its consequences. Walking with people closest to you can already be a learning opportunity. Moreover, one will get a grasp of the basics of a relationship while navigating kinships and friendships. 1. One should be willing to make sacrifices. Sacrifices can be observed in the most mundane moments like lending your coworker a hand or prolonging a phone call to accompany your heartbroken friend. If you can give up comfort to give way to others, then that is sacrifice. 2. One will give time to what is important to them. Everyone has time. I know you have encountered that statement. You probably noticed that you tend to prioritize ...

during the dusk

recollections written during the dusk Thunder Thunder snaps no longer frighten me yet lighting still does. the gust of the wind the constant sundown freeing the heaviness of the clouds inducing consolation soothing a wounded heart washing the roads I’ve been back and forth clearing the lanes to be revisited The heavy rain greeting the night with its pitter-patter after weeks of drought It felt like a song I’ve been yearning to listen to. Summer rain damped shoes foggy windows the splash from puddles brought by the inevitable yet early rains the sound from your radio The mud and plash no longer bum you up as long as you keep your umbrella steady; as long as you hold your chin up. You’re prized even during the days you’re still learning how to love. contagious laughter lending our ears for stories I couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate life.
