Epigraph 2022

wrapping up the year by sharing some lessons and freestyle poetry

prose

Solitude won’t be detrimental.

In fact, you will relish meals by yourself and do stuff without much companion while you grow up. They don’t equate to despising people. I’m not merely talking about status. I’m pertaining to the phase when you do life while being surrounded by the inevitable pressures of adulthood. During that season, the illusion that you are not doing enough will begin to creep in.

I know we are not truly alone. I’m sure that the Lord who brought me to the place where I set my foot in is with me. He will constantly be faithful.

We all know that adulting is never without the storms. Hence, it is perfectly fine to step out quickly for a breather. Most of us experience tranquility in the quiet moments while we lend an ear to the One who knows us more than ourselves.

Furthermore, we find solace when we temporarily get out of the mundane and our normal bustle in order to show up to what matters. Stepping out and showing up are the lessons learned.

No one is completely deserted even they appear to be like one. They seek delight in the stillness.

poetry

Off-road

We returned

in order to echo nothing but solace.

You recognized that voice.

It felt like standing in front of multiple mirrors

which reflected my younger self.

The feeling resembles homesickness.

nostalgic because of the pleasant past

what used to be

those folks and that feeling

They were not foreign.

That was our trail down memory lane.

Rhythm

The heart feels pain

because it is made of flesh

not of stone

hoping mine won’t grow numb

that it won’t run out of storage

flip the page

give space

for what will unfold

wondering when did you arrived

Those folks were present all along.

I was too slow to notice.

pen down those words

even our routines are unrelated

Re-encounter

storing gifts

observing silently

Maybe we are just not aware of

how we will put in into words.

Our passiveness doesn't link to detachment.

the years ahead of us

They are opportunity to re-encounter each other.
